Dayton Hylary Penick, 88, of Sharon, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Volunteer Community Hospital, Martin.
Graveside services were held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Alamo Cemetery, Rives with Rev. David Brown officiating and Murphy Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
William Mansfield, James Pritchett, Johnny Williamson, William Newsom, Keith Sullivan and James Romelhart served as pallbearers.
Penick was born December 16, 1921 in Weakley County, son of the late Dayton Hall and Gladys Simmons Penick. He was a retired farmer and a member of Alamo Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mable Ridgeway Penick of Union City; two sons, Darrell Penick of Martin and Dayton E. Penick of Chicago; one brother, Charles Penick of Martin; two sisters, Betty Marsee of Sharon and Edna Morgan of Indiana; and two grandchildren, Kelly Penick and Dana Penick, both of Paris.
