Arthur Adam Guetterman Jr. Posted: Thursday, June 10, 2010 4:28 pm Lt. Commander Arthur Adam “Art” Guetterman Jr., 77, of Martin, died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at his residence. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, Martin with Rev. Mike Sams and Rev. David Brown officiating. Burial was in East Side Cemetery with Murphy Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Jim Harris, Samuel Guetterman, Eric Guetterman, David Spencer, Jerry Landrum and Charles McMorries served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were James Bryant, Jason Batchelor, Stan Seiber, David Gibson, James Wall, Don Jock and Dr. David Jones. Guetterman was born Jan. 10, 1933, in Belleville, Ill., son of the late Arthur Adam Sr. and Peggy Mundon Guetterman. He was a retired Lt. Commander, U. S. Anvy, with 23 years of service in the United State Navy and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Heidrick Guetterman of Martin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Drew Guetterman of Lenior City, Bob and Lorrie Guetterman of Anaheim, Calif.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Ken Kirkland of Martin, Peggy and Dan Oliver of Weatherford, Texas, Kathy and Matthew Gentil of Annandale, Va.; and 12 grandchildren.
