General Sessions
The following cases were disposed of May 25 and May 27 in Obion County General Sessions Court by Judge Jimmy Smith, or fines paid before scheduled court appearances, and were recorded in the dockets in the office of Obion County Circuit Court Clerk Harry Johnson.
The cases listed exclude routine traffic violations, civil cases and cases that are dismissed. All others are published, including judicial diversions, without exception.
• Kevin Cates (203 College St., Greenfield) — worthless check, waived to the grand jury.
• Matthew D. Clark (204 Hayes St., Union City) — theft of property and two counts of worthless check, waived to the grand jury.
• Allan M. Coleman (512 North First St., Union City) — driving under the influence, $350 fine and costs, driver’s license revoked one year, 11 months and 29 days jail suspended except 48 hours, 11 months and 29 days supervised probation.
• Kenneth E. Garrett (Northwest Correctional Facility, Tiptonville) — aggravated robbery, bound over to the grand jury.
• Dorothy D. Haynes (529 Nash St., Apt. 88, Union City) — criminal trespassing, 11 months and 29 days jail suspended except time served, costs, supervised probation, no contact with the victim.
• Rebecca J. Jackson (418 Adams St., Union City) — simple possession/casual exchange, 11 months and 29 days jail suspended except 48 hours, $250 fine and costs, 11 months and 29 days supervised probation.
• Heather Maassen (4794 Lippard Road, Obion) — misdemeanor child abuse/neglect, costs, probation through the Department of Children’s Services.
• Mark T. McKissack Jr. (112 Woodgrove Road, Jackson) — misdemeanor simple possession, time served, 11 months and 29 days supervised probation, $1,000 fine and costs; possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance without a prescription, $750 fine and costs, 11 months and 29 days supervised probation, time served.
• Jennifer Murphy (1714 High School Drive, Union City) — criminal trespassing, 11 months and 29 days jail suspended except time served, no contact with the victim, costs, 11 months and 29 days supervised probation.
• Nicholas R. Searcy (520 North Fifth Ave., Humboldt) — simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, 11 months and 29 days supervised probation, no jail time.
• Tommie L. Smith (1003 Mercer St., Union City) — misdemeanor simple possession, 30 days jail, supervised probation, $250 fine and costs.
• William D. Smith (address not listed) — misdemeanor simple possession/casual exchange, time served, 11 months and 29 days supervised probation, costs, no contact with the other parties.
• Tracy K. Thornton (201 Cedar St., Union City) — 23 counts of forgery, bound over to the grand jury.
• Jerry T. Jimerson (2156 Hank Miller Road, Union City) — evading arrest, 11 months and 29 days jail suspended except time served, costs.
• Quintint D. Jones (820 South 12th St., Mayfield, Ky.) — simple possession, 11 months and 29 days judicial diversion, $250 fine and costs.
• Teresa R. Moore (206 Railroad St., Arlington, Ky.) — misdemeanor simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, 11 months and 29 days jail suspended, $500 fine and costs, 11 months and 29 days supervised probation.
• Carl L. Petty (1877 North Key Road, Troy) — carrying a weapon on school property, informal adjustment, probation, 50 hours of community service, costs; consuming an alcoholic beverage on school premises, informal adjustment, probation, 50 hours of community service, costs.
• Brittany D. Rhoades (2981 North County Home Road, Union City) — probation violation, 30 days jail.
• Terry M. Scates (312 North Clover St., Union City) — theft, $35 restitution, 11 months and 29 days to serve balance of sentence, permanently banned from E.W. James & Sons and Save-A-Lot; probation violation, to serve balance of sentence time (concurrent); theft of merchandise/shoplifting, $25 restitution, 11 months and 29 days jail, permanently banned from E.W. James & Sons and Save-A-Lot; resisting a stop, arrest or search, best interest plea, 11 months and 29 days to serve balance of sentence.
• David White (1156 State Route 808, Clinton, Ky.) — two counts of misdemeanor worthless check, pay checks and costs, 11 months and 29 days supevised probation.
• Joseph W. White (1333 West Highway 22, Troy) — theft, 11 months and 29 days judicial diversion, $83.11 restitution, banned from Walmart.
