| | 21-GUN SALUTE – Members of the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department Bob Melton, Allen Walker, Josh Rogers, Brian Chandler, Steve Fulcher, Gary Eddings, Gavin Elam and Johnathan McDowell offered the 21-Gun Salute during the county’s Memorial Day program held on the courthouse lawn Monday afternoon. Local veterans were on hand as well as the Boy Scouts of America Troop 40, who folding the flag and raised the flag to full staff. This year, white doves were released before the playing of “TAPS” to symbolize peace. Guest speaker was David Crum of the 194th Engineer Brigade who shared his recent experiences in Iraq. | | | | |
