The team of Mary Ruth Wiseman, Jackie Russell, Shirley Hardin, LeAnn Gantt and Shelley Stout combined to shoot a 4-under-par and win the weekly women’s scramble at Wynridge Greens in Troy on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the second-place combination of Kathy Barker, Pattye Williams, Jenny Sullivan, Charlotte Hall and Cathy Hall finished at 2-under.

OC baseball tryouts
set for Thursday
Tryouts for the Obion Central baseball team for next season have been set for Thursday night at 6 at the Rebels’ high school field in Troy.
All players must try out, regardless of whether or not they were on the team this past spring.
Prospective players must bring their own workout gear.

goes to E. Illinois
Eastern Illinois Univ-ersity has claimed the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Cup for the 2009-10 school year.
The award is a symbol of overall athletic excellence in conference-sponsored championships.
The award will be presented to university officials on Friday at the league’s annual Honors Luncheon in Nashville.
Eastern Illinois finished the year with 100.5 points, seven more than second place Murray State, which won the inaugural Cup a year ago.
Eastern Kentucky fi-nished third (92), followed by Morehead State (88), Jacksonville State (84), Tennessee Tech (76), Austin Peay (74), Southeast Missouri (69.5), UT Martin (59.5) and Tennessee State (45).

ST. LOUIS (AP) — The wife of St. Louis Cardinals batting coach Mark McGwire has delivered triplets.
Stephanie McGwire had three daughters on Tuesday.
The former slugger was away from the team, and manager Tony La Russa didn’t say whether McGwire would rejoin the Cardinals for tonight’s game against Cincinnati. Mike Aldrete will fill in during McGwire’s absence.
The 46-year-old McGwire now has five children in his second marriage.
