John Richard “Ricky” Wilson, 64, of Dresden, died Friday, May 28, 2010, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church, Dresden with Bro. Mark Earheart officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery, Dresden with Bowlin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Kenneth Bennett, Casey Bennett, Billy Gene Wagster, Micky Hicks, Bobby German, Larry Jolley and Walter Bennett will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Bradley Wilson, Jeremy Wilson, John Wilson, Eric Wilson, James Daniel Wilson and Michael Wilson, Temis Guerrero, Johnathan Guzman, Joseph Wilson and Blanton Hamilton.
Wilson was born in Weakley County, son of the late John Thomas “Jack” and Ruth Gardner Wilson. He was a 1964 graduate of Dresden High School, owner of Cadillac’s Inc. in Martin and a member of Martin American Legion and Union City VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Kathryn Phillips Wilson of Dresden; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kandi Wilson of Port Charlotte, Fla., Keely and Johnny Nanney of Martin; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Kay and Don Barcus of Lakeland, Renee Guerrero of Martin, Tammy and Rick Guzman of Bensonville, Ill.; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ray and Mary Wilson of Gleason, Tommy Wilson, Mike and Holly Wilson, all of Dresden, Randy and Martine Wilson of Waterloo, Iowa; and two grandchildren, Jack Nanney and Hallee Nanney, both of Martin.
