| The Weakley County Trustee’s office will begin accepting partial payments by bank draft on the fifth day of every month.
This will allow taxpayers to begin paying on their tax bills before the tax bills are sent out in October.
People who sign up now have the option of paying their taxes in nine monthly installments beginning June 5 with their last payment being Feb. 5.
If there is a tax increase or decrease, the payments will be adjusted accordingly during the months of October until February.
Once enrolled into the program, taxpayers will be automatically enrolled for all upcoming years unless they cancel the program. This will allow a 12 month payment option for the years 2011 and beyond.
“It is our hope that this will lessen the burden to the taxpayers by allowing them more payment options and having the ability to make monthly payments without any additional cost to them,” Weakley County Trustee Marci Floyd noted.
Applcations may be picked up at the Weakley County Trustees Office or may be printed on the county’s Web site at www.weakleycountytn.gov. Contact the trustee’s office at 731-364-3643 with questions.
