A Union City man has been bound over to the grand jury on an attempted murder charge stemming from a shooting incident earlier this month.
Dennis Lewis Jr., 20, of 620 North Morgan St., Union City, was bound over on a single charge of attempted first-degree murder following a hearing Thursday in Obion County General Sessions Court.
The next regular session of the grand jury is scheduled for the first Monday in June.
Police reported the charge stems from a shooting that occurred late the night of May 2 in the area of the Lilac Street apartments in Union City.
Zackery Zaccheus Moody, 24, of 405 Wells Ave., Fulton, was injured in the incident, according to a Union City Police Department report.
The shooting apparently occurred sometime between 8 and 10 p.m., according to police, who indicated the police department received a call from the staff at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin indicating Moody had been brought in and had been shot in the leg in Union City.
Few details were released following the shooting, although police had indicated the next day that a suspect had been identified.
