Moore sworn in to practice law
Kate Leeann Moore, daughter of Judge Tommy and Carol Moore of Dresden, was sworn in to practice law on Friday, May 21, 2010, at the Circuit Court Room in the Weakley County Courthouse. The ceremony was presided over by Circuit Judge William Acree, of the 27th Judicial District, State of Tennessee who administered the official oath of an attorney, required for her admission to the Bar.
Ms. Moore will begin her legal career as an Assistant to Joseph Atnip the Public Defender for the 27th Judicial District. She was administered the Oath of a Public Defender for the State of Tennessee by General Sessions Judge Obion County Jimmy Smith.
Following brief remarks by her father, General Sessions Judge Weakley County Tommy Moore, he administered yet another Oath of an Attorney to the youngest and newest member of the Weakley County Bar. Several members of the Bar and a large number of family, friends and well wishers assembled especially for the occasion and congratulated the young lady.
Kate Moore is a graduate of Dresden High School, Union University and the University of Memphis School of Law. She was notified of her passing of the State Bar Examination on April 9, 2010. A reception was held in her honor in the Courtroom following the ceremony.
