Joan T. Homra, 70, of Fulton died 7:34 a.m. May 27, 2010, at her home.
A memorial service is planned for Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Fulton First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. William “Bill” Tate officiating.
Friends may call at the church from noon until the hour of services Tuesday.
Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be made to Ken-Tenn Humane Society, 406 Eddings St., Fulton, KY 42041.
She was born March 11, 1940, in Obion County, daughter of the late Henry Tune and the late Mary (Parker) Tune Black. She was married to Mike Homra Sept. 29, 1959. He survives. She was co-owner of The Leader Store and Leader Travel in Fulton and had lived in the area most of her life. She was a member of Fulton First United Methodist Church and Jacob Flournoy Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors also include four daughters, Michelle Wheat of Union City, Valerie Johnstone of Jackson, Stephanie Simmons of Lexington, Ky., and Bridget Pirtle of Fulton; and nine grandchildren, Kelly McDaniel of Murray, Ky., Kristen Greer, Elizabeth Pirtle and Annie Ruth Pirtle, all of Fulton, Foster Johnstone, Mary Parker Johnstone and Aline Wells Johnstone, all of Jackson, and Molly Simmons and Maggie Simmons, both of Lexington, Ky.
