Rita Christine (Jones) McQueen, 70, a longtime resident of the Walnut Log community, died May 27, 2010, at Golden Living Center.
Services will be noon Saturday at Walnut Log Baptist Church, with the Revs. Gary Haynes, Charles Southerland and Eric Burress officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Manuel Cemetery.
Friends may call at White-Ranson Funeral Home 5-8 p.m. Friday.
Pallbearers will be Austin Maddox, Dillon Scarbrough, Craig Dugger, Brad Penney, Randy Craddock, Jack Krietman, Phillip McQueen, Ricky Henson, Paul Maddox and Charles Beasley.
The family requests that memorials be made to Walnut Log Baptist Church.
She was born Nov. 17, 1939, in Fulton County, Ky., daughter of the late Solomon Prince and Myrtle Lee (Jackson) Jones. She married Ralph “Tobe” McQueen May 25, 1965. He died Oct. 17, 1996. She was a retired seamstress and was a member of Walnut Log Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Shawn Maddox of Troy; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Keith and Sherry McQueen and Ricky and Kathy McQueen, all of Union City, and James Allan Pinion of Moscow, Ky.; four grandchildren and the spouse of one, Austin Maddox and Courtney and Craig Dugger, all of Troy, and Kesha McQueen and Brad Penney, both of Union City; and two great-grandchildren, Rexx Dugger and Stevee Dugger, both of Troy.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Donald McQueen and David McQueen; her sister, Margaret McQueen; and three brothers, Charles Jackson, Paul Jones and Russell Jones.
