Lady Chargers’ lack of offense ends season
The Westview Lady Chargers softball team couldn’t get a run across the plate in their losers’ bracket match-up with Chattanooga Central’s Lady Pounders. Chattanooga used a two-run homer by shortstop Sara Walker in the sixth inning to provide the only offense in the 2-0 game in the Class AA State Softball Tournament Thursday afternoon in Murfreesboro.
The Lady Chargers managed just three hits and drew one walk from Lady Pounder hurler Shelby Willard. Westview’s Shaylon Robb suffered the loss.
The defeat ends Westview’s season with a record of 29-16.
For more details from the game, see Tuesday’s edition of the Weakley County Press.
