Miss Bruff is DAR winner
Posted: Wednesday, May 26, 2010 8:02 pm DISTRICT WINNER — Allison Bruff (second from left), a Reelfoot Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen, recently won the Chickasaw District DAR Good Citizen Contest and was invited to attend the 105th State Conference of the Tennessee Society/National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Knoxville. Miss Bruff was the first student from the Reelfoot Chapter, which was established in 1932, to win this honor. Though she did not win the state competition, she was introduced at the awards luncheon by Luanne H. DeWitt (not pictured), vice chairman of the DAR Good Citizens Committee. She was joined at the luncheon by her parents, (from right) Tracy and Jennifer Bruff of Union City and Reelfoot Chapter vice regent Mary Wall Dunavant. Others attending were Miss Bruff’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Bruff of Union City, and Reelfoot Chapter member Maria Baddour. More than 300 people were seated at the luncheon.
