Lula B. Gargus, 75, of the Shawtown community died 3:41 p.m. May 21, 2010, in the emergency room at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Protemus Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Obion County, with the Rev. James Robert Gunter officiating. Burial will follow in Cobb’s Chapel Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be made to Protemus Cumberland Presbyterian  Church, in care of Betty Rhamy, 2372 West Shawtown Road, Troy, TN 38260; or Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
She had retired as dietary supervisor of the Brethren Home in Flora, Ind., and was a member of Protemus Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Tonja Kay Cottingham of Indiana and Marsha Lee Holien of Texas; her son, Mark Allen Gargus of Guatemala; two stepdaughters, Ruthie McKeever of Indiana and Carolyn Brooks of Missouri; two stepsons, Larry Gargus of Arkansas and Allen Gargus of South Carolina; four sisters, Betty Hodge of Florida, Dixie Lancaster and Mary Turnpaugh, both of Indiana, and Delores Milligan of Texas; her brother, Mike Milligan of Indiana; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Emery and Pat Lanning; and her brother, B.J. Milligan.
