A Union City man has been bound over to the grand jury for alleged sexual exploitation of a minor.
Richard Alexander Herrera, 40, of 615 East Vine St., Union City, was bound over during action Thursday in Obion County General Sessions Court.
He was arrested on the charge May 11 at the Obion County Law Enforcement Complex, according to a Union City Police Department report.
The charge was levied following an ongoing investigation and the review of over 1,200 photos taken from Herrera’s computers in the period of August and September 2009. Police reported they discovered 715 of the images meet the guidelines to be charged under the code for sexual exploitation of a minor. The photos appear to be females younger than 18 years of age, according to the report.
Herrera had been sentenced in February after being found guilty in January in Obion County Circuit Court on several charges — including criminal attempt to commit unlawful photographing, sexual battery, criminal attempt to commit sexual battery and unlawful photographing — relating to the alleged filming of women without their consent.
