Completed arrangements are being announced for Gladys Marie Shields, 50, of Union City, who died May 18, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Union City, with burial following in East View Cemetery.
The Rev. Ron Smith will officiate and pallbearers will be Mike Williams, Donnie Cox, Steve Lensen, Billy Cox, Anthony Alexander and Roy Swift.
Friends may call at Rawls Funeral Home 6-8 p.m. Friday.
She was born July 23, 1959, in Hickman, Ky., daughter of Carrie Mae Shields of Union City and the late Jessie Cross Jr.
She was a homemaker who attended Everfaithful Baptist Church in Union City.
Survivors also include four daughters, Amber Powell, Taqushia Smith, Ebony Shields and Essence McKinney, all of Union City; nine sisters, Jeanine Swift of Dyersburg, Pearl Callicutt and Victoria Alexander, both of Union City, Pam Young of Tiptonville, Diane Freeman of Hickman, Jessica Cross, Tory Cross and Cynthia Cross, all of Milwaukee, and Michelle Cross of Atlanta; and 11 brothers, Willie Cross, Melvin Swift and Roy Swift, all of Hickman, Jessie Swift and Renell Swift, both of Ridgely, Prenell Cross of Atlanta, James Cross of Orlando, Fla., Sammie Alexander of Union City, Miles Cross and Arthur Cross, both of Milwaukee, and Marcell Cross of Dallas.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Willie James Pierce.
