Wednesday, May 5, our opening hymn was, “Wonderful Words of Life.” Scripture reading was from Daniel 10:12. We then held our monthly business meeting. There was extra time and we continued our study in John 5:17-30.
On Sunday, we met at 9:15 a.m. to honor our moms with Muffins for Moms. During the Sunday school hour, we sang, “Trust and Obey,” led by Joe David and Lisa Odle. Bro. Bob read from the lesson, “I Take You,” from Genesis 2:23-25.
We had a great attendance of 90 for the worship hour. We appreciate our guest and family members who came. “Victory in Jesus” and “He Lives” was sung. Chris Riddle read a poem about moms. Specials were brought by Chris Riddle, Jennifer White, Bill and Barbara Riddle and Charlene Harris, “Precious Memories.” Robert and Julie Baker sang, “Knowing You’ll Be There,” and Renita Cantrell sang, “Hand Full of Weeds.” Some of our men passed out gifts to each of the ladies, and they were all asked to come to the platform to be recognized.
Bro. Kieth’s text was from Luke 1:26-33, 37. God not only found favor in her, but He does us as well! Following the invitational hymn, we recognized our oldest mom: Alpha Belle Jackson, our youngest mom: Dawn Dyer and our mom with the most children: Geneva Tims, with potted plants. Bro. Dewey voiced the closing prayer. It was a good day!
We had no evening service.
