Today is the sixth Sunday of Easter Festival on the church calendar. Bible readings are Acts 16:9-15, Revelations 21:9-14, 21-27, John 16:23-33 or John 5:1-9. On May 13, the festival on the church calendar is The Ascension of Our Lord. Bible readings are Acts 1:1-11, Ephesians 1:15-23 and Luke 24:44-53.
Our Sunday school lesson from Colossian 2:1-10 was, “A Discerning Community,” taught by Bro. Harold Roberts.
Stand firm in your faith, found only in the truth of Christ, was the focus of this lesson.
Sister Debbie Roberts played the piano and Bro. Harold Roberts led the hymn singing. Debbie sang the beautiful song, “Thank You.” This song written by Ray Boltz was written for Pastor Appreciation Day. He never thought it would change his life.
The simple course was his way of thanking people we so often forget, but are very important to the Kingdom of God. Please remember Sunday school teachers, evangelist, ministers, missionary work and all those that use their God-given talents for His Kingdom. They need our prayers and thank you.
Our Search the Scriptures group meets at 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Sunday. If you like to study God’s Word, please join us.
This week the ladies prayer group and Bible study that meets on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. has a lesson from I Thessalonians 4:13-18. “Rapture Ahead,” will be taught by Marcia Gardner. Iris Budde and Mary Stevenson will provide refreshments.wcp 5/18/10
