James Gregory Caldwell, 45, of Clarksville, who was raised by Evelyn C. Caldwell of Union City, whom he considered his mother, died May 14, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville, with the Rev. Robert P. Harris Jr. and Bishop Harold K. Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West in Hopkinsville, Ky.
Friends may call at Foston Funeral Home in Clarksville from noon-6 p.m. Tuesday.
He was born May 31, 1964, in Wyatt, Mo. His biological parents were Dorothy (Benford) Caldwell of Indianapolis and the late Willmor Caldwell. He was married to the former Valayasa Crowell, who survives, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Faith Missions Ministry Inc., where he served as Christian education officer, an elder, new members coordinator and newsletter staff member.
Survivors also include two children, Oneisha M. Caldwell of Clarksville and Dorian Z. Crowell of Portsmouth, Va.; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Stanley and Holly Caldwell of Dalton, Ga., Anthony and Joyce Huff of Union City, Willmor Caldwell Jr. of Indianapolis and Terry Caldwell of Milwaukee; and 10 sisters and three brothers-in-law, Valarie Caldwell and Janice Caldwell, both of Union City, Marilyn Caldwell and Margaret Caldwell, both of Milwaukee, Chastity and Jerrick McLendon of Canton, Ohio, Cynthia and Stacey Evans of Southside, Ala., Brenda and Anthony Jones of Clarksville, Stella Ward of Indianapolis, Rachel Williams of Warren, Ark., and Rose Hardy of Muncie, Ind.
