A Union City woman was charged with animal neglect and two other offenses after police responded to an anonymous complaint Friday morning.
Jennifer Oliver, 25, of 1202 South Second St., Union City, was issued a citation at 8:20 a.m. charging her with animal neglect, no proof of vaccination and no city tags, according to a Union City Police Department report.
About 7:10 a.m. Friday, police received an anonymous complaint alleging the resident at 1202 South Second St. had a dog that had not been fed in several days. An officer went to the home and spoke with Ms. Oliver, who indicated she had fed the dog but said the animal had that appearance when she found it. She told police she has had the dog two to three weeks.
Police reported Ms. Oliver did not have proof of vaccination or a city tag as required.
According to the report, Ms. Oliver told police she is going to get rid of the dog as soon as she can find a home for it.
