Completed arrangements are being announced for Jesse “Pete” Tidwell, 60, of Troy. He died 6:15 a.m. May 12, 2010, at his home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Terry Council officiating. Burial will follow in Brownsville Cemetery in that Kentucky community.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Friday.
Pallbearers will be Billy Liliker, Ralph Norman, B.J. Phillips, Mike Autry, Tim Crow and Harold Jenkins.
The family requests that memorials be made to Obion County Cancer Agency through Hometown Walk of Hope.
He was born April 7, 1950, in Obion County, son of the late William and Lena (Wolverton) Tidwell. He married the former Carolyn Council June 22, 1996. She survives. He had been a diesel mechanic and a truck driver for Heartland Express in Iowa City, Iowa. He was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Troy.
Survivors also include his son, Leslie Tidwell of Troy; four daughters, Jaime Tidwell of the Harris Station community, Tracy McDaniel of Union City, Angie Kendall of Hornbeak and Regina VanCleave of Martin; nine grandchildren, Corey McDaniel and Jadon Emery, both of Union City, Jesse Nicole Tidwell, Lyndsey VanCleave and Mason VanCleave, all of Martin, Tyler Delbo and Courtney Wherry, both of Harris Station, and Shelby Kendall and Parker Kendall, both of Hornbeak; eight sisters, Peggy Ferguson of Dukedom, Patricia Wilson of Indianapolis, Mavis Titus and Geneva Swaggert, both of Lexington, S.C., Mozelle Liliker of Cayce, Ky., Jeanie Parrish of Troy, Emma Jo Hardin of South Fulton and Doris Henderson of Ridgely; and two brothers, Bobby Rea of Trenton and Roy Tidwell of Friendship.
He was also preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Outlaw, Louise Bondurant, Pearlie Clark, Marie Tidwell and Carrie Ann Baggett; and four brothers, John Tidwell, James Tidwell, Loring Tidwell and Charlie Rea.
