National School Nurse Day was established to foster a better understanding of the role of school nurses in an educational setting. The National School Nurse Day is celebrated on Wednesday within National Nurse Week, which is always May 6 through May 12. The proclamation encourages all citizens to support school nurses and thank them for helping keep kids healthy and ready to learn.
