Reb football camp
scheduled for June

Obion Central head football coach Shawn Jackson is set to host a “Fourth Quarter Camp” June 1-2 in Troy.
The individual camp is one of a series involving high school and college level coaches that is open to football players entering grades 6-12.
Coaches helping Jackson at this year’s camp are Upper Iowa University’s Brian Frana and Jesse Mantalto, the University of Missouri’s Marcus Yokeley and Joe Liebner, Minot State’s Aaron Frana and Drake University’s Tom Allen.
Pre-registration for the camp is $50 if completed by May 21 or $65 cash — $75 if paying by check — on the day of the camp. Payment can be sent with a completed registration form to 4th Quarter Camp, 528 Highway 51 N., Troy, TN 38260.

OC youth football
signing up Saturday

The Obion County Youth Football League will accept early registrations on Saturday at the Troy Community Center.
Sign-ups will be taken for football players and cheerleaders set to be in grades 1-5 in the 2010-11 school year from 8 a.m. until noon.
The fee for football players is $55, while cheerleaders can register for $15.

W’ridge gal victors
have two-stroke lead

The team of Cheryl Brundige, Letha Raddes, Alice Peeples, Novella Little and Linda Lofton combined to shoot a 4-under-par and win the weekly women’s scramble at Wynridge Greens in Troy on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the team comprised of Joyce Bell, Joanie Cavness, Martha Wolf, Beth Easterwood and Pat Vincent fired a 2-under to earn second place honors.
Wynridge Greens holds its weekly women’s scramble every Tuesday.

Skyhawk signee
is Miss. prep star

Jeverik Nelson, a 6-foot-8 210-pound forward from Callaway High School in Jackson, Miss., has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the UT Martin men’s basketball program.
ESPN.com has Nelson ranked as the 76th best power forward prospect in the nation (fourth best in the state of Mississippi).
As a senior at CHS, Nelson led the Chargers to a 23-11 record and a final ranking of No. 5 in the state of Mississippi.

UTM gals to bond
during Canada trip

The UT Martin women’s team will get a chance to build team chemistry on a summer tour to Ottawa, Canada with the hopes of buildingthis summer.
The Skyhawk women will arrive on campus Aug. 1 and practice for 10 days before leaving Martin by bus for Ottawa on Aug. 14.
The team will return to Martin on Aug. 23.
McMillan said his team will play at least three games and participate in several team activities.
