Wayne Douglas Stoker

Wayne Douglas Stoker, 94, of Gleason, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gleason First Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Carr, Rev. David Brown, Rev. Keith Sumner and Mike Walker officiating. Burial was in East Side Cemetery with Murphy Funeral Home of Martin in charge of the arrangements.
Mike Walker, Alan Stoker, Brent Stoker, Ronnie Bates, Dan Garner and Ira Stoker served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Bob Owen Sunday School class of Gleason First Baptist Church, where he was a member, Bill Rogers, Wendell Reed and Thomas Alman.
Stoker was born Nov. 25, 1915, in Weakley County, son of the late H. A. and Willie Bevil Stoker. He was the widower of Virginia Wright Stoker. He was a World War II United States Army veteran, a real estate broker and member of Gleason First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jenna and Earl Wright of Martin; one brother, Gordon Stoker of Nashville; one grandson, Zac Wright of Little Rock, Ark.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Arnice Stoker; one sister, Jean Beesley; and one granddaughter, Lee Amanda Wright.
