Union City’s JCPenney store is one of two in the state recently honored for exceptional results in 2009.
The Chairman’s Award — the company’s highest honor for performance excellence — was presented to the Union City store located in the County Marketplace and the Tullahoma store located in Northgate Mall.
The Union City store is managed by Jayne Adcock, while the Tullahoma store is managed by Paul Larson.
Myron E. “Mike” Ullman III, chairman and chief executive officer, honored JCPenney’s best-performing teams with the Chairman’s Award at a celebratory banquet held in Dallas.
“The hard work and discipline of these outstanding Associates were critical to the company’s success in 2009, despite the difficult economic environment,” Ullman said. “We thank them for their dedication to JCPenney’s industry-leading customer service and for their important role in making JCPenney the favorite shopping destination for America’s families.”
JCPenney presents Chairman’s Awards annually to the top-performing stores, districts and other selected teams in the company that significantly raise the bar on financial performance, customer service, innovation or overall support to the company’s business. Only 93 of 1,110 stores and five of 72 districts were selected as Chairman’s Award winners, based on results.
