E.W. James and Sons Supermarkets has announced that Union City’s newest dining experience — Legacy Restaurant — will be opening this week in the former Generations location.
Generations closed in early April and the building has been renovated both inside and outside.
Maria Griffith, a veteran of hotel and restaurant management, is the new general manager of Legacy. She studied international tourism and hotel management at the University in Cordoba, Spain, and is also classically trained in French bistro cuisine from Cordon Bleu in Paris, France.
“We’re going to offer family-friendly, reasonably-priced meals, as well as offer fast and delicious lunches every day. We’re touching back to the roots of the original E. W. James Restaurants with what we call the Legacy Fast Lane, which will offer some classic favorites, as well as handmade malts, milkshakes, smoothies and floats,” Ms. Griffith said.
She said there will be items on the menu for everyone and said the new layout will accommodate a business lunch atmosphere as well.
“We’re excited about being able to bring Maria’s vision to our new restaurant,” said Ken Pink, president and chief operating officer of E.W. James and Sons. “She certainly has done her homework with the overall design and feel for the community. She did a lot of research and what we saw convinced us that we needed to go down this avenue with Legacy.”
Legacy will officially open for business Thursday at 7 a.m. for breakfast. Hours for the restaurant will be from 7 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Mondays through Sundays. The restaurant will be open for extended hours until 9:30 p.m. Thursdays and until 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
For more information, call the restaurant at 885-8035. Additional information will be available soon on Legacy’s new Website, www.mylegacyrestaurant.com.
