The Troy Fire Department has been awarded two grants from the Department of Homeland Security.
Congressman John Tanner announced Thursday that the Troy Fire Department will receive a grant for $23,940 to improve operations and safety; and $52,250 to apply toward vehicle acquisition.
“Our firefighters are instrumental in protecting our communities, and it is important that we provide these men and women with the tools they need to do their jobs safely,” Tanner said.
“Providing our first responders with the resources they need is also a strong message of appreciation for the hard work they do.”
Tanner represents Tennessee’s 8th Congressional district in West and Middle Tennessee.
