Bible Union sets
Decoration Day
Bible Union Cemetery’s Decoration Day is traditionally Mother’s Day, which will be on May 9 this year.
A special time of tribute to deceased mother’s and other family members brought everyone out to place flower decorations on the graves.
The time is soon approaching for this spring rite, and once again the cemetery board is seeking donations for upkeep of the cemetery. The cemetery has a trust fund managed by the cemetery board. In recent years, the interest received from this fund has been very low. At one time, it was enough to cover the upkeep of the cemetery, but doesn’t quite make the full cost any more. The board is asking for interested persons to send a yearly contribution toward the cost of maintenance of the grounds. You might like to make a donation in memory of a loved one or in memory of a veteran buried at the cemetery, since Memorial Day is this month. Acknowledgement will be sent with each donation.
If you are interested in purchasing a plot in our tranquil cemetery, the cost is $250.
Donations can be mailed Terry Crittendon, 129 Ralston Rd., Martin, TN 38237 or given to board members Charles McWherter, Charles Ogg or Linda Plunk.
