Dresden High School Beta Club attends state convention

Dresden High School Beta Club members and sponsors, Deborah Perkins and P.K. Kelley, recently attended the Tennessee State Beta Convention on April 5-7, 2010, at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville.
This year’s theme was “Beta – The Winner’s Circle.” This annual event allows Betas from all across Tennessee to participate in various competitions.
At this year’s convention, Dresden Betas competed in the academic, banner, art and talent contests.
Michael Wilson, an 11th grader, won 1st place in the creative writing contest. Wilson received an invitation to compete at the National Beta Club Convention in Louisville on June 30-July 3, 2010.
Laura Carson, a 12th grader, won 3rd place in the talent contest. Tenth graders Ashley Taylor and Tiana Winstead competed in the banner and art competitions.
Colleen Perkins, Danielle Gallimore, Meagan Smith, Mack Mansfield and Audrey Powell competed in academic competitions.
Beta members in attendance were Laura Carson, Wynter Crowell, Danielle Gallimore, Kelsie Hendrix, Mack Mansfield, Rebecca Moore, Colleen Perkins, Audrey Powell, Maegan Smith, Ashley Taylor, Precious Turbeville, Michael Wilson and Tiana Winstead.
