The Bible Bowl was based on the book of Hebrews. All children competing in oral Bible reading had to read a passage that told a story. Year-round Advanced Bible Reading has five levels which have to be earned in sequence. The students start with narrative reading and move up the ladder while developing their voice, enunciation and microphone skills.
Good Samaritan awards are based on the number of hours of service to others.
In Know the Books, students learn the books of the Bible and recite them.
Puppet Theater consists of the children telling a story using puppets.
The story is written by the group or group leader based on the year’s theme.
Song Leading for boys and Songs of Praise for girls are both competitive and non-competitive for the students.
Adults receiving awards included Ethelene White (silver medal) for Good Samaritan, Ped Foster and Jeanne Foster (bronze medals) for Good Samaritan. They attended the convention, along with adults Wes and Tina Collier, Mike and Karen Huffstutter, Pete Kennedy, Gayle Napier, Allen and Shawna Pounds, Wanda Riley and Clay and Meredith Sydnor.
