Cumberland County Playhouse — HELLO, DOLLY! takes the Playhouse Mainstage on May 13 and plays thru August 22. DOLLY, rated G, is sponsored by Comfort Suites, Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inn of Crossville. DOLLY features music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, with book by Michael Stewart, and won ten Tony Awards, including BEST MUSICAL!

Dolly Gallagher Levi, played by Weslie Webster (Julie and other roles in CAROUSEL’S National Broadway Touring Company), makes a living through what she calls “meddling” — matchmaking younger couples, while setting her own cap for wealthy merchant, Horace Vandergelder, played by Bill Frey (FDR in CCP’s recent ANNIE). Dolly’s memorable songs include Put On Your Sunday Clothes, Ribbons Down My Back, Before the Parade Passes By, and one of the most famous songs in the history of American musical comedy, Hello, Dolly! Will Dolly get her man?? Enjoy a whirlwind race around New York at the turn of the twentieth century– the adventures of Dolly!

Coming soon is the 14th edition of Paul Crabtree’s TENNESSEE, USA! , Tennessee’s official Bicentannial Musical in ’76, and the show that opened the theater in 1965. It’s a rip-roaring, flag-waving, patriotic “musical comedy cavalcade” of Tennessee history, full of laughter and memories. TUSA opens June 18, and runs in rep with Dolly and other shows through Aug. 28.
