UTM hurler Green
gains league honor

Two days after earning his Ohio Valley Conference leading eighth victory of the season against the defending league champion, UT Martin’s Coty Green was named as the league’s Co-Pitcher of the Week today, sharing the honor with Eastern Illinois’ Josh Mueller.
From the outset of Game 2 of Saturday’s doubleheader at Eastern Illinois, Green was in control.
He went the full seven innings for the team’s first complete game of the season, carving up the Panther batters for a 92-pitch masterpiece.
He retired 17 of the first 19 batters he faced and carried a shutout into the final inning.
Showing impeccable command, he walked none and fanned six (five looking), including the final out of the game with the potential tying run at second base.
Green is now 8-2 on the campaign.
