Drug-related charges were placed against a Union City man after police received a tip alleging drug activity.
Dennis Montel Lewis, 20, of 620 North Morgan St., Union City, was arrested at 4:35 p.m. Monday on warrants charging him with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Police had gone to Lewis’ home Friday afternoon to investigate the tip regarding Lewis’ allegedly selling marijuana. Investigators reported they knew Lewis to be on active state probation for possession of marijuana with intent to sell, which made him subject to search at any time.
According to the report, police went to the residence with the intent of searching and spotted Lewis in his vehicle at Palmer and North Morgan streets. He allegedly accelerated and left the area. Police searched the home and found bags of marijuana totaling about 29 grams, including packaging, and $105 in cash, which was seized.
Police obtained a warrant for Lewis, who turned himself in Monday afternoon.
