Georgia Forbus, 97, of Troy died at Union City Manor Nursing Home May 1, 2010.
Services have been rescheduled, because of a family medical emergency, for 10 a.m. Tuesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Bobby Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Baker, Joe Johnson, Benny Ping, Steven Ping, Terry Cranford, Victor Black and Jeff Stephenson.
The family requests that memorials be made to Main Street Church of Christ in Troy.
She was born Sept. 13, 1912, in Obion County, daughter of the late William Samuel “Bill” and Ninnie Byrd (Estes) Cranford. She was the widow of Benjamin Thomas “Tom” Forbus, who died March 5, 1989. She had been employed at the former Obion County General Hospital nursing home and had provided child care for many children in her home.
She was a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Troy.
Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, XL Ping of the Clayton community, Gloria and Donald Ray Ransom of Clayton, Susan and Johnny Carter of Hickman, Ky., and Frankie and Victor Black of Kenton; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Homer Ping; two brothers, Paul Cranford and Auty Cranford; and her sister, Deloda Ellison.
