Sue Morton, 89, of Murray, Ky., grandmother of Christopher Parker of Union City, died 11:35 a.m. April 28, 2010, at her home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home in Murray, with the Rev. Martin Severns officiating. Burial will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Sunday.
She was born Aug. 19, 1920, in Weakley County, daughter of the late Corbit and Zelma (Frields) Rickman. She was the widow of Joe S. Morton, whom she married Nov. 23, 1940. He died July 28, 1985.
She was a retired employee of IGA and Cherry Branch and was a longtime member of Memorial Baptist Church in Kentucky.
She is also survived by two daughters and her son-in-law, Alice and Ralph Emerine and Suzanne Stover, all of Murray; her sister, Jessie Davis of Murray; her brother, Tommy Rickman of Lexington, Ky.; six other grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Patty Mayfield of Almo, Ky., Marc and Kay Mayfield of Fort Worth, Texas, Tony Bybee of Martin, Gary Emerine and Rebecca and Robert Guerin, all of Murray, and Sharie Lewis of Memphis; nine great-grandchildren and the spouse of one, Leslie and Patrick Fitzhugh of St. Charles, Mo., Zach Mayfield and Kaci Mayfield, both of Fort Worth, Jalyn Parker of Union City and Shawn Mayfield, Gregory Boggess, Ethan Emerine, Luke Emerine and Kaylee Geurin, all of Murray; two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Rickman and Eulala Morton; and several nieces and nephews and a great niece.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Hayden Rickman, Robert Rickman and Johnny Rickman.
