Dresden Duplcate Club met on a beautiful
Wednesday afternoon to play an outstanding and intense game of bridge.
Those attending enjoyed red chile cream cheese with crackers, a Colby cheese tray, homemade salsa with chips, cashews and cashew candy, sausage balls and butter nut cookies.
Winners of this game were 1st-Ruthie Jenkins and Carol Ehlers, 2nd-Sue Thompson and Toni Pritchett, 3rd-Tom Beard and Sarah Pentecost and 4th-Bertha Henry and Dot Beach.
It was a rather sad day for me. I was thinking about my grandson, Chase Crawford. Chase is a Lieutenant in the Marines and left from Seattle, Wash. at 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning for his flight to his Marine Base in Okinawa, Japan. While there, he will be an officer in Air Traffic Control.
Chase’s favorite “pick up” food is sausage balls. If I have made one for him, I have made one thousand and one. Here is my favorite recipe.
Sausage Balls
2 cups of biscuit mix
1 lb. hot sausage
8 oz. grated sharp cheese
Mix all real well and and roll into small size balls and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or so. Can be frozen and then baked.wcp 4-29-10
