“It’s suddenly wrong to enforce the law!?”
The subject this week is one causing great turmoil in the desert state. On April 23, Arizona governor Jan Brewer signed into law Senate Bill 1070. A bill that gives local police authorities a new unseen power that does what federal officials neglect to do. Actually enforcing the law! Yes, that’s right!
Arizona has taken it upon themselves to do what they are required to do by law. I will prove that to all of you naysayers in just a moment.
Enforcing the law has set off a firestorm of protests in Arizona with many angry patrons throwing rocks, smashing windows, and even threatening deadly weapon and gun violence.
Many liberals in the media erroneously said all of this about the Tea Party protesters last year. They said, in true propaganda fashion, that they were threatening violence and carrying swastikas when they were not.
Many people have been killed along the Mexican/Arizona border by gangs and drug dealers trying to peddle their poisonous wares on American soil. The latest major example of this was the March 27 murder of rancher Robert Krentz, who was shot on his ranch near Douglas, Ariz.
The rancher is believed to have been killed by an illegal immigrant who worked as a scout for drug smugglers. On Friday alone, there was a riot in downtown Phoenix, with protestors (both illegal and citizen) throwing rocks and bottles at riot police because of their sore displeasure with 1070.
Why is all of this violence, murder and drug trafficking by illegals happening here in America?
Simply and bluntly put, because people who do not deserve any rights, think they have a ‘right’ to America’s storehouse. Someone in the news has said recently, “illegal is illegal.”
This is NOT a racial issue, as many liberals have already thrown down their ‘race cards’ on the table. This is an issue of law enforcement and public safety. Anyone not going through proper channels to enter America could have many communicable diseases such as hepatitis, AIDS or bird flu, as well as could be an unknown criminal or other danger to society.
According to a new Rasmussen survey, 70 percent of likely voters in Arizona approve of the legislation, while just 23 percent oppose it.
That is because 70 percent of Arizona voters have already seen the total disregard for human life committed by illegal immigrants on American soil.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am all for legal immigration.
We need an expanse of legal immigration with people coming through proper channels in an Ellis Island-type system along our southern border, which includes being tested for diseases and background checks.
The truth is people don’t want to do the work on both sides of the border. The first step we need in the right direction is to enforce the law!
INA: ACT 271 – PREVENTION OF UNAUTHORIZED LANDING OF ALIENS: Sec. 271. [8 U.S.C. 1321] “(a) It shall be the duty of every person, including the owners, masters, officers, and agents of vessels, aircraft, transportation lines, or international bridges or toll roads … to prevent the landing of such alien in the United States at a port of entry other than as designated by the Attorney General or at any time or place other than as designated by the immigration officers. Any such person, owner, master, officer, or agent who fails to comply with the foregoing requirements shall be liable to a penalty to be imposed by the Attorney General of $3,000 for each such violation.” This states that if you do not report and/or stop an illegal you are breaking the law!
INA: ACT 274A – UNLAWFUL EMPLOYMENT OF ALIENS: “Sec. 274A. [8 U.S.C. 1324a]
(a) Making Employment of Unauthorized Aliens Unlawful. (1) In general. It is unlawful for a person or other entity-
(A) to hire, or to recruit or refer for a fee, for employment in the United States an alien knowing the alien is an unauthorized alien with respect to such employment, or
(2) Continuing employment. It is unlawful for a person or other entity, after hiring an alien for employment to continue to employ the alien in the United States knowing the alien is (or has become) an unauthorized alien.” This states that if you knowingly employ an illegal you are breaking the law also!
In closing, there is much, much more to our federal laws concerning illegal immigrants, but it would take at least 200 more pages just to list them. If you believe that illegals somehow have a ‘right’ to be here, I suggest that you read Sec. 274. [8 U.S.C. 1324] entitled ‘Criminal Penalties.’
I think that Governor Jan Brewer did a very good thing, and I believe that those that fight against it probably do not care for America in the first place.
This is not a case of human rights or racial profiling. This is a case of enforcing the law and siding with public consent for the cause of safety. It’s called ‘promoting the general welfare,’ not putting people who do not deserve America on ‘welfare!’
