Jack Sylvester Grimm Sr., 71, of Dresden, died Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sam Swanson officiating.
Grimm was born in Philippi, W. Va., son of the late Elmer and Opal Virginia Sprouse Grimm. He was a Coast Guard veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired machinery repairman with Ford Motor Company and a member of Dresden Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mrs. Patricia Rae Smith Grimm of Dresden; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Dave Rollins of Camden; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Jack S. Grimm Jr., Raymond E. and Darlene Grimm, all of Cleveland, Ohio, Douglas G. Grimm of Milan, John L. and Virginia Grimm of Dresden; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Evelyn Mae and Fred Zimmerman of Sacramento, Calif., Mary Belle Fenn of Wooster, Ohio, Patricia Darlene and Jerry Self of St. Paul, Ark.; five brothers and one-sister-in-law, George H. and Lynda Lee Grimm of Vermillion, Ohio, Elmer Grimm Jr., Phillip Allen Grimm and John Luke Grimm, all of Ohio, and Theodore Grimm of W. Va.; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Melvin M. Grimm; and one grandchild.
