Chester R. Gregory

Chester R. Gregory, 84, of Jacksonville, Ark., formerly of South Fulton, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at North Metro Medical Center in Jacksonville.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hornbeak Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton, Ky. with Rev. James Lawson officiating. Burial was in Greenlea Cemetery, Fulton.
Ben Hardy, Tim Stephenson, Zachary Robertson, Chris Robertson, Ebon Paddock and Mike Paddock served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Lovas, Mayo Watts, Ronald Watts, Fayette Mullins, Tim McClurg, Jason Thompson and Justen Hudson.
Gregory was born Nov. 24, 1925, in Graves County, Ky., son of the late Clifton Hall and Ruth Hibbs Gregory. He was a graduate of Dresden High School, and a World War II veteran of the United States Air Force. He was the owner of the former Chester’s Garage, a member of the American Legion Post #0072 in Fulton and member of the Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mrs. Hilde Mueller Gregory of Jacksonville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Nancy Stephenson of Jacksonville, Deborah and Rick Robertson of Crossett, Ark., Barbara and Ben Hardy of South Fulton; three sisters, Margaret Elizabeth Watts, Frances Louise Pierpoint and Rachel Pearl Thompson, all of Martin; six grandchildren, Heather Paddock and Tim Stephenson both of Jacksonville, Zachary Robertson of Temple, Texas, Chris Robertson of Conway, Ark., Meredith Robertson of Crossett; and Mikaela Hardy of South Fulton; and three great-grandchildren, Ebon Paddock of Jacksonville, Rylan Robertson and Ryder Robertson, both of Temple.
He was also preceded in death by one infant grandson.
