Jerry Anderson Erwin, 92, of the Elbridge community near Obion died April 24, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services were set for 11 a.m. today at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion, with the Rev. Jerry Leggett officiating. Burial was to follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery in Troy.
Pallbearers were to be Brandon Boane, Bobby Boane, Peewee Erwin, Cody Caksackkar, Kelly Walker and Don Burpo. Honorary pallbearers were to be Howard Erwin and Robbie Erwin.
He was born March 1, 1918, in Elbridge, son of the late Odie and Lilly Mae (Miller) Erwin. He was a truck driver for the former Short’s Feed Mill in the Cloverdale community.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Erwin of Obion and James Erwin of Hendersonville; two brothers, Odie Clayton Erwin of Obion and Elmer Erwin of Union City; his sister, Dorothy Gwaltney of Union City; and seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Jerry Glen Erwin; two daughters, Louise Jernigan and Glenda Faye Erwin; three brothers, Milton Erwin, Vernie Erwin and James Willard Erwin; and four sisters, Mary Ruth Davis, Reba Truett, Emmar Watts and Donnie Keith.
