Troy Mayor Jimmie Hart presented a plaque to the Hill Clinic staff Thursday afternoon to mark the clinic’s 57 years of service in Troy.
On hand to accept the award from the Town of Troy was the family of clinic founder the late Dr. Chesley H. Hill, including his son, Dr. Robert Paul Hill; his widow, Betty Hill; and his daughter, Dr. Cynthia Hill Gooch.
Hill Clinic was established on the north side of the Troy square in March 1953 by the late Dr. Hill and his wife, a registered nurse who served as clinic nurse. The practice moved to its present location at 316 Harper St. in Troy in 1969 and underwent expansion in 1997.
Dr. Robert Paul Hill attended the University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis and completed residency training at UT Hospital in Knoxville. He is board-certified in internal medicine. Dr. Gooch also attended UT Medical School in Memphis and completed residency training at the City of Memphis and Veterans Administration hospitals in Memphis. She is board-certified in pathology.
Hart said the town’s mayor and board of aldermen “feel very fortunate” to have such an outstanding medical clinic located in their community. He said they try to recognize an outstanding local business each year.
