Ex-Skyhawk joins Jaguars
Former UT Martin wide receiver Roren Thomas signed a free agent NFL contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars after Saturday’s 2010 NFL Draft.
Thomas played three seasons (2005-08) at UTM and transferred to Lindenwood University after he was dismissed from the Skyhawk football program following an off-field altercation with another student last April.
At Lindenwood, Thomas caught 37 passes for 409 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 236 yards and three scores.
At UT Martin, Thomas saw action in 34 games. He had 90 receptions for 1,481 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Thomas played for UTM head coaches Matt Griffin (2005) and Jason Simpson (2006-08).
Griffin accepted a job as an offensive assistant coach with the Jaguars this offseason.
