Singing for Hope
Singing for Hope | Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope
‘HOPE’ING FOR A SONG — A variety music show featuring songs to please gospel music fans, those who favor blue grass and country and even those with nostalgic and sweet memories of the true rock and roll classics of the 1950s and ’60s is planned for May 1 at 7 p.m. at Union City Civic Auditorium. Goodyear Retiree Club is sponsoring “Singing for Hope” as a fund raiser for Hometown Walk of Hope, with all profits going to that effort to assist local cancer patients and their families. Club representative David Parks (left) and Jamie Worrell, who will be one of the talented performers to take the stage that evening, are encouraging fans of toe-tapping tunes and hand-clapping favorites to purchase their $10 tickets in advance at Lanzer’s Printing and Office Supply, Five Seasons Men’s Shop, Buddy’s Wrecker Service and Health Quest in Union City for preferred seating. Barry Keathley will be the emcee for the musical variety show that will also showcase lots of other family fun provided by local talent. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
