It was second verse, same as the first for the Westview Lady Chargers and Greenfield Lady Yellowjackets tennis teams on Monday.
The two squads, meeting for the second time this season, came up with the same result — a 7-0 win for Greenfield in action at the Skyhawk Courts.
The closest match of the day came at No. 3 singles where Greenfield’s Haley Perkins held off Lady Charger Melissa Darroch, 8-4.
It was a clean sweep for GHS at No. 4 and No. 5 singles. Greenfield’s Meagan Porter stopped Cara Burnham, 8-0, while Emily Allen blanked Westview’s Brooklyn Burress, 8-0, at No. 5.
Greenfield won both the No. 1 and No. 2 singles by an 8-2 margin. At No. 1, Lady Jacket Katie McCall downed Chloe Nance, while Mallory Robinson defeated Lady Charger Ashleigh Ary at No. 2.
The wins continued for GHS in doubles play as the No. 1 tandem of McCall and Perkins downed Nance and Ary, 8-2. At No. 2, Greenfield’s Robinson and Porter downed Westview’s Burress and Darroch, 8-0.
In other matches that didn’t count toward the team totals, at No. 6, Greenfield’s Hannah Mosely stopped Shantia Brown, 6-0, while at No. 7, Lady Jacket Taylor Hatcher downed Dylan Brown, 6-0.
At No. 8, Greenfield’s Kaylee Kesterson got past Alexis Beveryly, 6-3, while Kendal Cook picked up another win for GHS at No. 9, downing Westview’s Jennifer Hollis, 6-0.
Westview’s Brown, playing at No. 10 in addition to her match at No. 7, defeated Lady Jacket Brittany Ricketts, 6-3.
In extra doubles matches, Greenfield’s Mosely and Allen stopped Brown and Burnham, 8-0, at No. 3, while at No. 4, Hatcher and Kesterson defeated Beverly and Hollis, 6-2.
