Wilma B. Shaw, 78, of Jackson, Miss., formerly of Clarksdale, Miss., and of Obion County, died April 14, 2010, at Manhatten Nursing Home in Jackson. She was the sister of John N. Brasfield of Troy.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Clarksdale, with burial following there in the Oakridge Cemetery. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale was in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
A retired medical technologist with the Woman’s Clinic of Clarksdale, she was a graduate of the former Troy High School who attended Murray (Ky.) State University. She graduated from the University of Tennessee in Memphis with a degree in medical technology.
She was a charter member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
Survivors also include her husband of 54 years, James O. Shaw of Jackson; her daughter Jamie Shaw of Dallas; two sons and her daughter-in-law, Robert Dee and Rose Shaw of Houston and John David Shaw of Jackson; another brother, Robert Lee Brasfield of Manchester; and four grandchildren, Kristen Shaw, Katie Shaw, John Dylan Shaw and Ashley Tanner Shaw.
