Irene Yates, 98, of Fulton died 3:05 a.m. April 20, 2010, at Haws Memorial Rehab and Nursing Facility in Fulton.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, with burial following in Old Bethel Cemetery in Graves County, Ky.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday.
She was born July 27, 1911, in Wolf Island, Ky., daughter of the late Mitchell and Mary Florence (Maxberry) Lee. She was the widow of Guy Anderson Yates and was a retired employee of Ferry Morse Seed Co. in Fulton. She was a member of Pleasant View General Baptist Church.
Survivors include her adopted son, Edward Yates of South Fulton; her niece, Rebecca Grause Johnson of Mayfield, Ky.; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert G. Yates, her adopted son and four brothers.
