Russell Sikes, 79, of Obion died April 17, 2010, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Rosehill Cemetery in Obion, with Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern in charge of arrangements.
The Revs. Dale Basham and Michael Dodd will officiate and pallbearers will be Mike Williams, Robert McCoy, Ricky Westmoreland, Reza Safaeih, Pete Putman and John Coffman.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5:30-8 p.m. today.
He was born Sept. 9, 1930, in Elbridge, son of the late Wilford and Laura (Stover) Sikes. He was the widower of Alta Marie Sikes and was a master carpenter and farmer.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Gale and Dale Basham of Ridgely and Debbie and Mike Williams of Newbern; six grandchildren, Kimberly Whitson and Crissie McCoy, both of Ridgely, Tammy Putman and Crystal Williams, both of Newbern, Pam Joy of Dyersburg and Melanie Williams of Valparaiso, Ind.; and nine great-grandchildren, Justin Whitson, Adriene Harris, Macala Cochran, Calan Cochran and Nate McCoy, all of Ridgely, Jessica Putman and Jennifer Putman, both of Newbern, and Chase Joy and Jonathan Coffman, both of Dyersburg.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Sikes.
