Joy Ingram Prather, 82, of Obion, a former resident of Union City, died at 11:05 p.m. April 15, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Eddie Mallonee officiating. Burial will follow at East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 p.m. Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Rick Booth, Neal Black, Gerald Hollis, Ed Cook, Donald Bloxom and Richard Hood.
She was born Feb. 16, 1928, in Obion County, daughter of the late Samuel Nesbitt and Helen (Cheatham) Payne. She was a retired employee of the former Salant & Salant in Union City and in Obion and was a member of Union City Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Prather of Union City; her son, William Prather of Winder, Ga.; three grandchildren, Noelle Hood of Obion, Amber Davidson of Memphis and Erik Davidson of Murfreesboro; five great-grandchildren, Halie Hood and Lindy Hood, both of Obion, and Gage Davidson, Gavin Davidson and Gareth Davidson, all of Murfreesboro; and her sister, Sarah Chandler of Union City.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Davidson, and three sisters.
