Lael Sunday School Class met recently in the fellowship hall at Union City First Baptist Church.
Faye Passmore, the class president, opened the meeting with prayer.
She then asked for names of those who needed prayer for healing or comfort. Dorothy Rasberry led in prayer. The class then spoke the Pledge of Faith.
The class will be giving a donation to Sara (Quinton) Burton and her husband, who will be going on a mission trip to Nicaragua in June, as the monthly project.
Dorothy Capps gave the devotional based on scripture in II Corinthians. She said Paul was criticized about what he preached about Christ, but he did not have to defend himself from them. Paul’s letters came from Christ, not himself, and he simply continued to preach the truth.
Lena Mai Pruitt was the hostess. She served cake, cheese sticks, nuts, candy and drinks to Bobbie Adams, Ms. Capps, Pat Cunningham, Jean Eaker, Grace Killion, Edna McIntosh, Ms. Rasberry, Trudie Thornton, Jessie White and Mrs. Passmore.
The next meeting will be May 11, with Joyce Stephens as hostess.
After the meeting, members enjoyed dominoes.
