‘Sonrise’ service set
Lake Road Baptist Church, located at 1366 East Hwy. 22, will be holding a “Sonrise” service Sunday, starting at 6:15. Everyone is invited to join in the celebration of our Lord’s resurrection. A light breakfast will follow.
The Rev. Chip Davis is the pastor.  
 
Yard sale set
Children’s Church of Greater Vision Church of God at 701 South Mary Jane St. in Troy, will host a yard sale and bake sale Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. There will be household items, clothing, baked good and much more, with proceeds going to the Widow’s Ministry Center in Sevierville.
The children invite the community to support the worthy cause, a spokesman said. Other mission fields they support include Smoky Mountain Home for Children in Sevierville and the food pantry and clothing ministry of the local church.
The Rev. Tommy Sanders is pastor.

Women to meet
Women in the area are invited to welcome spring with the Ken-Tenn Women’s Connection monthly luncheon meeting Wednesday at 11 at the Ole West Steakhouse, located at 943 Main St. in Martin. The theme is “Hop Into Spring.”
 Sherry Elliott of Cissy’s shop in Fulton will be sharing some Vera Bradley™ creations. As a special feature, Ms. Elliott will share some new spring styles.
“They say pretty weather makes us want to sing and Wanda Dunn from Union City will share her talent with selections entitled ‘Sounds of Spring,’” a spokesman said.
The featured speaker for the luncheon will be Ann Stauffer from St. Charles, Mo. Her presentation is entitled “From Happiness to Joy — It’s Clear as a Bell.”   
 All women are welcome to attend. The $10 price includes buffet, beverage and tip. Walk-ins are welcome. Reservations can be made by Monday morning by calling (731) 587-3915, 885-9029, (731) 479-2979 or 479-8020
 The program is sponsored by the Ken-Tenn Women’s Connection in association with Stonecroft Inc.

 Choir Day slated
The adult choir of Anointed Church of the Living God, located at 1211 South Miles Ave. in Union City, will host the annual Choir Day Sunday at 3 p.m. Seven dynamic choirs will be taking part. These include Oak Grove Missionary Baptist and New Walk of Faith churches in Martin, Peach Grove Male Chorus from Rutherford, Embassy of Truth from Dyersubrg, Mount Herman Missionary Baptist Church choir from Woodland Mills, Thomas Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Hickman, Ky., and Church of Jesus for All singers from Union City.
Tonya Brown will be presenting liturgical mime.

Yard sale planned
Star of Bethlehem Church, located on the corner of Marvin Vaught and Possum Trot roads, will host a yard sale Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. to benefit the church’s youth programs.
The Rev. Chris Brady and the congregation invite the community to support the effort and to join them for Sunday services. Sunday school is at 10 a.m., with preaching at 11. Wednesday evening services are at 7.

Spring musical set
Dyersburg Christian Center, located at 824 Finley Road, is hosting a spring musical April 23 at 7 p.m. The choir, which is sponsoring the event, is inviting the community to attend.

Gospel meeting begins
Obion Church of Christ, located at 226 West Main Ave., is having a gospel meeting Friday through Tuesday. The guest speaker will be Charles Pledge of Selmer. The public is invited to attend and hear “Bible-based, Christ-centered, scripture-filled preaching. Please come as we strive to restore New Testament Christianity in our world today,” a spokesman said.
Bible study will be at 9:50 a.m. Sunday, with worship following at 10:50 and that evening and the other nights of the meeting at 7.

To sell fish plates
On Saturday, The Gospel Goldenaires will be selling fish plates at the Casey-Johnson Community Center in Union City.
The menu will include fish, white beans, spaghetti, slaw and cake, with a beverage for $6.75 or cheeseburger, chips, cake and a beverage for $3.75.

Neals to sing
The Neals will be in concert Sunday night at Greater Vision Church of God in Troy at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend, said the pastor, the Rev. Thomas Sanders.
The church is located at 701 Mary Jane St.

Healing service set
The Rev. Jim Crick, a healing evangelist and former volunteer with Benny Hinn Ministries, will be at Fulton’s Carr Street Community Center Tuesday at 7 p.m.
“He has a heart for people in need of healing and a vision for the hurt and broken and those with infirmities,” a spokesman said. He invited the community to attend the preaching, praise and worship event.
 Wyatt to speak
Bobby Wyatt, a resident of Obion County and a member of Union City Second Baptist Church, will share his experiences from his recent trip to Haiti, following the January earthquake, Sunday at 6 p.m. The church is located at 831 Everett Blvd.
Wyatt works with the national disaster Medical System and Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team and it is in these roles that he traveled to Haiti.
The church has recently participated in the “Buckets of Hope” program for Haiti, a hands-on ministry helping to feed Haitian families affected by the earthquake.
